Think Content and Relax - Adding More Web Pages and Content

To improve your search engine results pages (SERPs) results in Yahoo!, there is a need to create more content. One way to do that is to simply add more fresh content pages, complete with individual page titles, to your website. As you add more pages, there are more entries for search engine spiders, and for visitor traffic, to find your site.

Make certain that your maintain good website user navigation in the form of a site map. Even more than with Google and its much more active Googlebot, you need to make the entry paths to your site easy for the Yahoo! spider. It simply doesn't appear to crawl as deeply, or as often, as the Google spider.

The use of good internal linking, complete with appropriate keyword anchor text, makes it easier for spiders to crawl and index your pages. Solid internal linking serves the double purpose, of easing site navigation, for your visitor traffic.

On your incoming links, from external sites, try to get good keyword anchor text. All search engines will value it highly. It may have added value for Yahoo! due to the additional keyword placement. Anchor text will also attract additional visitors to your site. They are all potential customers for your products and services.

Adding a blog component to your website will provide additional content. The blog will also serve your site well in terms of search engines and visitor traffic. Blogs are well treated by the search engines because of their regular fresh keyword rich content, coupled with abundant incoming links. Yahoo!, in particular, treats blogs well, even more so than Google. Because the Yahoo! algorithm is so heavily influenced by content, blogs find themselves well placed in the Yahoo! SERPs.

The much maligned meta tags appear to have some value to the Yahoo! algorithm. While most SEO professionals agree that meta tags have little value to Google, they seem to carry some minor weight with Yahoo!. If you do elect to use meta tags, select new ones for every web page. Concentrate on a maximum of about five of the most important ones for the page to prevent possible spamming. Don't over use any meta tags, and you may get some benefit from Yahoo! for them.
